PASTE
SLAKER
Quality hydrated lime slurry, no matter what grade of quicklime
In a continual effort to offer our customers the exact equipment needed for their specific process, Chemco Systems now offers the Paste Slaker. This is intended to compliment our Slurry Slaker, Batch Slaker and Ball Mill Slaker product lines. Now, no matter what type of slaking process is desired, Chemco offers a quality product based on years of experience.
The Paste Slaker is designed to produce quality hydrated lime slurry from any commercial grade of quicklime.
The Slaker can be constructed of carbon steel or stainless steel. It incorporates abrasion resistent alloy steel mixing paddles assuring a long service life.
Paste Slakers can be provided in sizes to process quicklime from 500 to 16,000 lbs./hr. Each system incorporates an operator friendly graphical touch screen interface. It can be provided with either an inclined grit removal screw or a grit screen classifier. No matter what the end use, Chemco's units are diverse enough to easily adapt.
The Paste Slaker can be provided as
a stand-alone unit or as part of a complete storage and delivery system.
Each system that Chemco provides is custom designed to suit physical and
process requirements of the individual customer.
Paste Slaker systems can be provided with any of the following Chemco feeding devices:
Each system is provided with Chemco assembled controls and programming that can be readily integrated with existing controls. All control panels are assembled at our facility under direct supervision of our experienced Electrical Engineering Staff. All PLC logic is developed and tested ensuring the system is as complete as possible before being shipped. This ensures timely start-up by reducing on-site time of technicians to place the system into operation.

How the Chemco Paste Slaker operates
Water and lime are proportionally delivered when the machine is started. The paste forming within the slaking chamber is electronically monitored and water is automatically metered as required to ensure proper viscosity. Internal paddles provide the proper degree of mixing, ensuring the paste is thoroughly blended and moves toward the discharge weir. The slaking chamber is equipped with a dust and vapor removal system to prevent the escape of steam generated by the exothermic reaction taking place. Lime paste exits the slaking chamber over a discharge weir, where water spray nozzles dilute and cut through the paste as it overflows. Paste is diluted in the discharge chamber as it exits the machine.
Slurry can exit the machine and go directly into process if pulverized quicklime is used or grit does not present process problems. Otherwise, slurry can be directed into an inclined grit removal chamber or a vibrating screen classifier.
Upon system shutdown, control logic incorporates a sequence of events to thoroughly flush the system and allow it to cool. Upon being flushed the unit automatically shuts down and is ready for operation with little need for operator attention.
No matter what type of slaking process
is preferred, Chemco offers the equipment to meet your needs. Our many
years of experience go into every product sold.
